Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) & Hypnotherapy for Pregnancy & Birth

Through my work as a midwife and IVF nurse I’ve observed that many women approach pregnancy and birth with an element of fear or apprehension. 

And while some level of nerves or anticipation can be expected for such a significant life event, for some this can be so much more. These fears can cast a shadow over what should be an exciting and joyful time, creating emotional roadblocks that are difficult to navigate.

And this can be so challenging to navigate and a real mix of emotions - perhaps happiness, anticipation and excitement to meet your baby tinged with moments of uncertainty or doubt or fear.

You might have thoughts of “I can’t do this”, “I won’t be able to cope” or “It’s going to be painful”.

These thoughts are more than just passing worries—they’re often deeply rooted in limiting beliefs you hold about yourself and your ability to navigate pregnancy and childbirth. These limiting beliefs may be that you’re not strong enough, that you don’t have a high pain threshold, that you aren’t capable, that you aren’t worthy, that birth is scary, that your mum had a difficult birth or pregnancy so you will too.

How limiting beliefs impact pregnancy and birth

These limiting beliefs live in your subconscious mind, quietly shaping your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours—even if you’re not fully aware of them.  And to really embed these beliefs is confirmation bias which refers to the brain’s tendency to seek out, interpret, and remember information in a way that confirms our existing beliefs. In other words, once we have a core belief, our brain is constantly scanning the environment for evidence that supports it, while ignoring or discounting evidence that contradicts it.

For example, if you believe “birth is painful and scary”, you might focus on all the times you read, are told or come across a birth story that reinforces this, while overlooking all the positive and empowering birth stories. This selective perception reinforces the belief, making it even more entrenched.

The power of hypnotherapy and RTT 

By working with the incredible power of your subconscious mind, we can not only identify any limiting beliefs that are holding you back, but we can also reframe, upgrade and reprogram these negative beliefs for new, positive and supportive ones.

Imagine replacing “birth is scary” with thoughts like:

  • “I am strong and capable.”

  • “My body knows exactly what to do.”

  • “Birth is empowering.”

  • “I trust my instincts.”

This is different from a simple positive affirmation which you very well may have tried with little difference. And this is because through hypnosis we can bypass the critical thinking and logical component of the conscious mind and plant these new beliefs in the subconscious mind where they can be fully accepted. 

This process doesn’t just change how you think; it changes what you believe about yourself, how you feel, how you behave and how you experience the world.

  • Revisit at least 3 scenes from your past that relate to the ‘problem’ you are facing

  • Identify and understand the limiting beliefs these experiences left you with 

  • Reframe and ‘weed out’ these limiting beliefs

  • Reprogram new, empowering, positive beliefs that support you and align with your vision for your pregnancy and birth 

  • Experience deep relaxation and calm 

Each session is tailored to your unique situation and designed to create lasting change. After your session, you’ll receive a personalised hypnosis audio to reinforce the positive suggestions and new beliefs which is yours to listen to every day for at least 21 days.
